Loving Lately – 1.31.16

Happy Sunday!!

My week was filled with work, work and more work but boy did it feel good to get back into the swing of things. The market has been SO slow this winter and even though it gave me the opportunity for a much needed break I have been really happy that things are picking back up. December of 2015 and this January saw the lowest housing inventory that Chicago has seen in 30 years!! Slowly but surely things are starting to come back onto the market and I could not be more excited!!

My boss just purchased an investment property and is planning on doing a total renovation on it. We met with some contractors this week and did a few walk throughs so we can get the ball rolling. Inside one of the units the tenants had left a TON of furniture and I was eying one of the pieces. Sam and I have been looking for a dresser or shelving unit to hold some of our extra clothes/shoes and the piece I saw would be perfect! It needs a little love but I have a vision for it. I asked Wes if I could take it and he said “Of course” followed up by “good luck convincing Sam to help you bring another project into the house” …. he knows me too well : )

BUT I did manage to convince Sam that it would be a perfect fit! We are going to try and get over there sometime today to get it. In the meantime, I have been dreaming about what I can do to transform this dresser. My mind immediately went to adding some beautiful drawer pulls and knobs. I feel like I have been seeing this trend everywhere lately. Simple furniture with super glam or interesting hardware. I just feel like they can transform a piece of furniture.

I am so excited to start this little project, check back soon for updates!

PS: Does anyone know a good place to score great hardware?! I love Anthropologie, they have the best stuff! I would love to know if you have any places you count on for awesome knobs and pulls! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great week!
