Splurge Vs. Steal – Throw Blankets

slider

There is nothing better than snuggling up into a comfy blanket on a cold day. Here in Chicago, we have a lot of those. Not only are blankets the perfect solution for freezing cold mornings and even colder nights, they can also win you huge style points! Throws make a room look effortlessly chic. Quickly tossing one over the end of your bed or your living room couch will instantly add a little texture and warmth. Plus its a fun way to add color or pattern into your home.

Here are some of my favorites.

Faux fur throws take the cake for me. I love the glam vibes that they give off and they add a ton of texture to a space. I have never met anyone that didn’t like snuggling up into a faux fur blanket. They are just so heavenly. They vary in price, and can be ridiculously expensive, but I found two that were around $50 which is a bargain. Places like TJMaxx and Marshalls are also great to score affordable faux fur throws, they always have them stocked in the winter.

Cable knit throws are such a classic. I love cable knits in cream colors and think they are the perfect neutral if that’s the look you’re going for. Cable knits tend to run on the pricier side but you should still be able to find some for under $100. The one I linked above is from Ugg and if they’re anything like the boot, I need one in my life. Plus I like the smaller more feminine knit.

Fringe Throws

Fringe throws are a favorite of mine because they add a little fun and whimsy to a space. Fringe throws are the “trendiest” out there right now. You can get them in almost any color, pattern and material and they are relatively cheap. Both of these steals from Target are under $25! A fringe throw looks especially good hanging over the back of a chair or couch, somewhere that you can really see the edge detail. Since fringe was all over the place last fall and we are still seeing a ton of it on trend for the spring, I don’t see this look dying down anytime soon.

On a side note, pom poms are also making a huge splash in the fashion world right now. I have been seeing them on everything from shoes to bags and as we head into spring I think we are going to be seeing a lot more of them. These pom pom throws below are so fun and look amazingly comfy. I think they are a steal at $56!

If you’re like me and still trapped in winter, I hope you find yourself snuggled up in your favorite throw by the end of the day. I know I will be : )

Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!
