You may remember me talking about Emily Schuman and her most recent book Cupcakes & Cashmere At Home a few months ago on the blog. If you missed the post you can catch up on it here. Emily Schuman is one of my all time favorite bloggers and the creator of Cupcakes and Cashmere. Her book gives readers simple and stylish advice for elevating their everyday lives.
As I was reading through the book I came across pictures from the renovation they did on her downstairs powder room and I swear my heart almost stopped. I had never, in my life, seen a wallpaper I loved as much as I loved this one.
This room Is obviously elevated by the fact that it is so well-designed but the wallpaper itself is a serious showstopper. The marble sink is a perfect pairing for the busy wallpaper. It is simple enough to not compete with the wallpaper but once you look closely you realize how gorgeous it is on its own. All of the brassy fixtures add some dimension against the dark walls and make their own statement. But once again they are complimenting the wallpaper and not competing.
I know I have said this about 700 times but if you can’t go dramatic in a powder room, where can you!? It’s the perfect spot to add some personality to your home. Plus the advantage of a small space is that you have less square footage and less cost. It’s a win-win.
I know wallpaper in general can be intimidating but its 2016 y’all! They make wallpaper that is literally as simple as putting on a sticker AND it’s just as easy to take off. Check out the pictures below for some more floral wall inspiration.
All the pictures below have the same moody, floral wallpaper by Ellie Cashman. You can shop her wallpapers here. I love how different they look in these different spaces.
If you are thinking about adding something new to your space but aren’t sure if you want to make the wallpaper commitment, check out Temp Paper Designs. They have some really beautiful patterns and I have heard great things about their products. They just released a new collection and I am dying to get my hands on this banana leaf wallpaper!!
As always, thanks for stopping by! Let me know if you’ve ever used temporary wallpaper or a floral wallpaper below in the comments!
