Stockholm Styling

For those of you who have been reading my blog for a while you know that I LOVE Ikea. I say it over and over but I think they produce really good, affordable staples that can be used in so many of different ways.

One of those pieces is the Stockholm rug. I have seen it styled over and over and over again and in SO many different spaces. The rug itself is handwoven. Yes, you read that right. HANDWOVEN. It’s also made of a really durable soil resistant wool which allows it to be very versatile when it comes to where you place it. I constantly see these rugs styled in kitchens and dining rooms, which some people may be hesitant about, but they are really durable and high quality. They are also the exact same pattern on the other side so they can be flipped to extend the life of the rug.

kitchen2kitchendiningroomI love the banana leaf drapes in the dining room above!! I have been really into banana leaf patterns lately and I think that in this case they pair so well with the neutral colors of the dining room. Also notice that the rug in this photo is a larger than the other photos? The rug comes in two sizes, both of which are pretty large. The smaller version is 5’7″ by 7’10” and is priced at $199. The larger version is 8’2″ by 11’6″ and is $299. Those prices are really incredible for such a large rug that can be used with such versatility.

I love that they layered a fun hot pink rug over the neutral Stockholm in the picture above. Aside from adding a pop of color this is a really good trick to use if you want to use a rug in a room but the size isn’t quite right. By layering the rug over a jute rug or something neutral like the Stockholm you can make sure your proportions are right and still use your favorite rugs in a layered look. Also loving the layered look of the photo below in this gorgeous loft.

The architectural details in the room below are drool worthy. I love the juxtaposition of mid century furniture against the ornate architectural details. Such a beautiful mix.

Do you have any versatile rugs that you go back to time and time again? I would love to hear your suggestions below! In my opinion, the Stockholm is a classic rug that will really withstand the test of time. Plus the price is almost as lovable as the rug itself! You can shop the Ikea Stockholm rug here.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by. I hope you are having a great week!
