Not Your Grandma’s Rug

I have been seeing oriental rugs EVERYWHERE lately and this is one trend that I am ready to jump on the bandwagon for. There are a ton of different rugs that fall under the category of Oriental. Have you ever heard of a Turkish rug or a Tibetan rug? The difference in name correlates to the country where the rug was made but they are all made using the same steps and materials for the most part.

I’ll be honest with you, when someone says oriental rug, chic is not the first word to come to mind. That is changing though!! Check out the pictures below for some new takes on an old classic.

I love how in all these looks they took a rather neutral canvas and used a colorful rug to spice up the space. This is also a great idea for those of us living in apartments or people who move around a lot. Keeping the furniture in your house neutral will allow it to work in so many spaces and you can use accessories to add the flair that the space needs. Kind of like putting an outfit together, right?! I gathered up some of my favorites from Lulu & Georgia. Check them out below!!
