The Perfect Poncho & A Pop Of Pink

I don’t know if there is anything I love more than a good poncho. I live in ponchos during the fall and winter. It is basically like spending the day wrapped in a fluffy blanket. And if being wrapped in a fluffy blanket all day is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

I got this amazing gray poncho at Akira and have worn it 4 times in the last week. That’s right, I said FOUR. I wore it to work with black pants and some cute flats last week. Then I wore it out to a birthday party Saturday night with my favorite black jeans and some heels. I tossed my hair into a bun and it gave the whole look a totally different vibe. I wore it to brunch on Sunday (yes the next morning, don’t judge) and paired it with my Zella leggings and over the knee boots. Then I wore it for these photos with my black jeans and black booties. I threw on the pink lipstick because I absolutely adore the way a bright pink and gray look together. It is such an unexpected and fun pop of color.

After wearing it a few times I am just as in love with this poncho as I was the day I bought it. It is soft and fuzzy so it is incredibly comfortable. I love that it is long enough that you can wear it with leggings and still feel covered up. Plus it is a turtleneck and during this time of the year turtlenecks are my go-to. I often find myself wondering why turtlenecks have a bad rep because I think they can actually be really flattering.

If you live in the Chicago area you need to RUN to Akira and take advantage of the amazing sales they have going on. All of their ponchos in store are “Buy 2 for $30” and they have this poncho in black AND a camel color. They also have a ton of different style ponchos to choose from. Since ponchos at Akira will usually cost you around $50 getting 2 for $30 is the deal of the century. If you are not from Chicago you can check out Akira’s site here, and you can get this particular poncho for $20 here.
