I’m back!!! I know that it has been a couple of weeks since I have posted and I have felt really guilty for not showing the blog the love that it deserves! It has been a crazy few weeks with the holidays and my birthday and I wanted to enjoy the time I got to spend with my family. I also spent some time thinking about the new year and what I hoped it would have in store for me, have you done the same?!
I recently read the book The Power which is the sequel to The Secret. If you have never read The Secret or watched the movie you absolutely have to! It’s on Netflix and will seriously change your perspective on life. The books focus on the power of attraction and how this force can effect every aspect of your life whether you are realizing it or not! Positive thoughts and actions attract positive results and negative thoughts and actions will bring more negativity into your life. It was the perfect book to read before the new year because it got me thinking about visualizing my goals. I have heard time after time that to realize a goal it needs to constantly be in the forefront of your mind and you have to really focus your energy on it. For this reason, a lot of people believe in creating a vision board. Basically a vision board can take any shape or form that you want it to, but it should be a collection of images that detail what you want in your life. You place this board somewhere that you will see it everyday (or multiple times a day). The idea is that if you are constantly seeing the things that you want, they will always be in the forefront of your mind and you will be able to attract them via the law of attraction.
I started thinking about the things I wanted to accomplish this year, in the next 5 years, even in the next 20 years! I bought myself a white foam board from Michaels and collected some magazines at the beginning of the month so that I could dedicate a day to putting together my vision board. They say that you should be VERY specific with the images that you put on your board so if there are things you can’t find in a magazine that you want on your board you can just print the images out and use them. Aka the black Range Rover on my board = #goals.
The best part about this is that your vision board should reflect YOU. There is no right or wrong way to make one. I chose to add a lot of words that inspire me and I added pictures of flowers to take up some of the extra blank space that was left over once I had all the images I wanted on the board. One message that I was trying to convey on my board was a reminder to really put myself out there. I was reading an interview the other day and the woman being interviewed said “Get over yourself and go for it, because other people are” and I thought AMEN SISTER!!!
Get over yourself and go for it, because other people are.
It is SO easy to get nervous about putting yourself out there or taking a risk or even making a change in your life. But that is what separates people who are successful from people who aren’t. I have learned over the past few years that sometimes putting myself out there is 95% of the battle. So here’s to us all putting ourselves out there this year!!! I hope that 2016 is full of new adventures and eye opening experiences that will give us all a new perspective. And I hope that the law of attraction brings us more positivity and happiness than we an ever imagine : )
