Fall Basics

As fall gets closer and closer, I can’t help but get excited for the transition into fall clothing. Fall is by far my favorite season. I love that in the fall you can start to transition back into neutrals and basics. The fall is all about cozying up and getting warm. What is better than that?! Below are the fall basics that I love year after year, hopefully you will love them too!

Flannel: here / Piko: here / Old Navy Vests: here

Hi, my name is Noelle and I am a black-clothing-aholic.

But seriously, I am one of those people that has a closet full of black clothing. Give me a break, I am trying to branch out! Lucky for me this flannel from H&M is making the job a little easier. I love wearing blue and greens as the weather gets colder. Is there anything more classic than a flannel? A long sleeve Piko is also a staple in my closet and not just for fall. If you have never worn a Piko top, you need to stop reading, open a new tab and order yourself one. They are soft, comfy and loose in all the right places. They are also long enough that you can wear them with leggings. It doesn’t get much better than that. The third item I chose is a vest. I had a difficult time deciding whether I should include a puffer vest or a faux fur vest. To be honest, both are essential items in my fall wardrobe. A vest is a great transition piece to get you from early fall, all the way through winter. You could go for a classic option like the JCrew Herringbone vest above (I lust over this vest), or be a little more kind to your bank account and explore some other great options. I swear by the puffer vests I have from Old Navy. People can not believe it when I tell them how much of a steal you can buy them for at Old Navy!

Fall. Basics. Bottoms
Black Jeans: here / Jeans: here / Leggings: here

I always keep it super simple when it comes to bottoms. This pair of black super stretch skinny jeans from Express are so comfy that they feel like leggings. I have also recently fallen in love with Zara jeans, which is where I got this amazing distressed pair. My favorite part? They don’t stretch out AT ALL! A good friend recommended them for this reason and she was spot on. These suckers will keep their hold and they are really flattering. As for the leggings, I have heard such amazing things about these leggings from Zella. They are definitely on my wish list for the fall. When compared to other high quality leggings like LuLuLemon, you just can’t beat the $50 price tag.

 Booties: here / Flats: here/ Rain-boots: here

And now on to shoes! For me personally, comfort is key. I am a realtor so I am always running around the city and I can have days where I am on my feet from morning till night. A comfy pair of flats is my absolute go to. This pair of Audrey Brooke flats from DSW give me life. They are by far the most comfortable pair of flats I own. I tend to wear a lot of neutrals, so they almost always go with my outfits and really add a fun pop of color. Booties are another essential in the fall. I would pick a neutral color so you could wear them with jeans and colored pants. I love the idea of snagging some booties with fringe for this fall because I currently wish everything in my life had fringe on it. A trend that I am LOVING for this fall! Also, you can’t forget rain boots! A good pair will last through the winter into spring. I always grab a black pair (go figure) because they go with everything. I love the high-low detail on the shaft of this boot and they are simple but cute.

Necklace: here / Hat: here & burgundy here / Scarf: here

Last but certainly not least, lets talk accessories. I think it goes without saying that a floppy hat and large blanket scarves are absolute essentials for the fall. Since burgundy seems to be the color of the season (Praise the lord), I have also linked a burgundy hat above. I also threw in this monogram necklace that I have been obsessing over. I feel like it makes such a statement.  After living in the south for 5 years, monogrammed items have earned a special place in my heart. I am currently searching for a necklace like this that costs under $50. If you know of any, hook your girl up!

What are some of your favorite fall basics?!

I am now rethinking my whole Labor Day weekend shopping spree. Piko tops are without a doubt getting ordered this weekend.
