Loving Lately 1.24.16 – Tribeza Interiors Tour

Happy Sunday!

I can’t believe that we are starting off the last week of January. Where is the time going?! Just as abruptly as work slowed down for me this past fall, it has picked back up in the last few weeks. I have found myself thrown back into the all too familiar crazy long work week and a never ending list of to-dos. As you probably know, I started this blog as part creative outlet for myself and part something to keep me busy when work was on the slower side. Real estate is extremely cyclical and I pretty much go from one extreme to the other. The spring and summer are always jam packed and then things tend to slow down through the fall and winter. Cold whether and the holidays do not mix well with house hunting. Let’s be real, who wants to be trekking through the city to check out places when there is a foot of snow outside?! NOT ME!

Since work has picked back up way earlier than expected, I have been finding it harder and harder to dedicate the same amount of time to the blog. By 8pm, after a long day of running around like a chicken with my head cut off, just the thought of coming home and spending hours putting together a post is exhausting. And I get it, we are all busy. We all have the same 24 hours in a day and choose to use it how we will. But at the same time, I want this to continue to be fun. I want to enjoy sitting down and writing content for you, not dread it! So long story longer, since i’m in such a chatty mood today, I will be transitioning into 3 posts a week now instead of 4.

I really want to make sure that I am still writing and posting the same quality content for you while still managing to keep a bit of my sanity! I hope you can understand! New posts will be up on Tuesday, Thursday and my usual Loving Lately on Sunday.

Now on to the GOOD stuff. And I mean, the REALLY GOOD stuff.

Screen Shot 2016-01-24 at 12.59.35 PM This weekend was a pretty epic one for interior design. More specifically, interior design in Austin, TX. Austin has actually become somewhat of a mecca in the past few years for interior designers and it seems like the city is constantly churning out Instagram worthy interiors.

Tribeza, an arts and culture magazine in Austin, hosted their third annual Tribeza Interiors Tour this weekend and it was epic. The really cool part about this tour in particular is that you get to walk through the personal homes of 7 of Austin’s leading designers. For two days, their homes are open to anyone who buys tickets for the tour. When I found out that Katie Kime’s house was part of the tour this year I almost lost it. Katie Kime is my spirit animal.

Since I don’t live in Austin anymore I wasn’t able to attend but through the amazing world of social media I have rounded up some of my favorite images from the weekend! I noticed some trends that I am seriously vibing with. If this is what 2016 has in store for us than we are surely in for a treat! Get ready for tons of graphic wallpapers, neon signs and lots of brass.

Yes. Those are fake flowers that are attached to the wall with Washi tape. The 7 year old inside of me is giddy. And the pink elephant wall paper below?! It reminds me of Donna Halls daughter’s room with the bunny wallpaper. If you don’t remember that amazing room or want to check it out again click here. So whimsical and girly, it speaks to me!Screen Shot 2016-01-24 at 1.42.11 PM

I was seriously blown away by some of these rooms. Plus this whole tour is such an awesome concept! I think I may need to spend a weekend in Austin next year checking this out. It’s always so inspiring to catch a glimpse of someone else’s space, especially when the rooms are designed so impeccably. What do you think?! What designs are your favorite?!

All of the images in this post were found on Instagram (except for the very first image from my own instagram). If you search the hashtag #tribezainteriorstour you will be able to see over 500 images from this weekend!! Happy house hunting : )
